Stop losing bookings to double-calendar chaos

Manual updates can leave calendars inconsistent. Before replacing an existing PMS, identify which workflow it does not support, which data must migrate and what its channel integrations actually guarantee.
BookBed is my own multi-platform property management product, built with Flutter, Firebase and Stripe for owners managing short-stay and longer-stay rentals. Its calendar, iCal integrations and embeddable booking widget are concrete portfolio work you can inspect. An iCal feed is periodic calendar synchronisation, not a guarantee that every external channel updates instantly.
Before building, identify which system owns reservations and which channels only publish calendar feeds. Specify how often feeds refresh, how cancellations are represented and what an owner sees when an import fails. An iCal feed should not be sold as an instant channel-manager API. Start with the properties, calendar and reservation actions an owner uses every day. Then decide whether the booking widget, guest records, payment integration and additional channels belong in the first release. Import history and existing bookings need a migration plan before switching the owner away from a spreadsheet or another PMS.
Acceptance should cover overlapping dates, timezones, a cancelled reservation, an unavailable external feed and permissions across property accounts. Agree what needs a manual review and how the owner is alerted. These are proposed checks for a custom engagement, not a claim that synchronisation removes all booking risk.
